P’fishers, take a look at today’s story in Yahoo! by the Associated Press, on the harmful effects of the increased carbon dioxide being absorbed into the ocean. Ocean acidity could increase 150 percent in the next 50 years. A report by the UN Convention on Biological Diversity states: “This dramatic increase is 100 times faster than any change in acidity experienced in the marine environment over the last 20 million years, giving little time for evolutionary adaptation within biological systems.”
